Comedy Double Bill - performed March 2014

The Real Inspector Hound

By Tom Stoppard

Performed with the kind permission of Samuel French

Director - Kate Sheffield

This one-act play by Tom Stoppard has the originality of style which he brings to his texts. In this play he parodies the "murder mystery" performance which invariably takes place in a country house. The two critics sent along to comment on the performance get carried away by their own pretensions - the one concerned about his rival critic, the other about his conquests with women. With these two getting involved in the drama a farcical conclusion is created. The cast have worked hard to achieve what will hopefully be a thoughtprovoking and amusing first half.

The Amazing Revelations of Orca The Goldfish

By David Tristram

Performed with the kind permission of Samuel French

Director - Glyn Hill

This is my second opportunity to direct for the Manifest Theatre, and it is very different from the brooding sinister ‘Dead Guilty’. ‘The Amazing Revelations of Orca The Goldfish’ is a saucy, hilariously funny play about a bored married couple Henry and Alice, who act out their fantasies in front of their goldfish Orca.
As before I have an amazing cast, small in number but huge in talent and commitment and a very supportive back stage crew. I hope you enjoy watching Orca as much as I have enjoyed directing it.
